LET CHANCE CHOOSE

Pick the next speaker, pair or volunteer fairly

Team roulette removes the awkwardness and bias from choosing who goes next. The wheel uses the active participant list, so it is ready for stand-up order, demonstrations, pairing, icebreakers or a fair first volunteer.

WHAT IT HELPS YOU DO

Designed for participation, not presentation

01

Live participant wheel

Everyone who joins the room appears on the shared wheel automatically.

02

Facilitator-controlled spin

The Scrum Master starts each spin so the group stays coordinated.

03

Reusable result

Spin again for a new turn without rebuilding a list or opening another service.

FACILITATOR PLAYBOOK

How to run it well

Keep the mechanics simple so the team can focus on the conversation.

  1. Share the room

Ask everyone to join with the name the team recognizes.

  2. Explain the purpose

State whether the wheel is choosing a speaker, pair, presenter or playful challenge participant.

  3. Spin and support

Respect reasonable opt-outs and spin again when participation would put someone in an unsafe position.

SCRUM MASTER TIPS

Small choices that make the activity better

  • Use randomness for fairness, not accountability avoidance.
  • Tell people what they may be selected to do before spinning.
  • Offer a pass for personal or sensitive prompts.
